North Star Probate

Terms of service

Last updated October 27, 2026

These terms govern your use of North Star Probate (the “Service”). By creating an account or subscribing you agree to them on behalf of yourself and any business you represent.

1. What the Service is

The Service compiles public Minnesota probate case information and matches it to public property records. It is a research and marketing tool for real estate professionals and businesses that serve estates.

2. Data-use limits

Compiled from public Minnesota court and county records. Records can be incomplete, delayed or changed, and cases that become non-public are removed. Verify anything important against the official court file. Not a consumer report: do not use it to decide anyone’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment or housing, and do not use it in place of a criminal background check.

3. Accounts

Keep your login private. Each plan includes a set number of logins; don’t share them. You are responsible for activity under your account. We log sign-ins and exports to protect the data.

4. Billing and cancellation

Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; access continues until the end of the period you paid for. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email; changes apply from your next renewal after the notice.

5. Availability

We aim to update the data weekly, but the Service depends on government sources we don’t control. Updates can be late or missed, and coverage (such as which counties have property matching) can change.

6. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including lost profits or deals.

7. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify North Star Probate and its owners against claims arising from your use of the Service or your breach of these terms, including claims by people you contacted.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be emailed to account owners. Minnesota law governs these terms, and disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
